Jake Zucco is a tattoo artist known for his expertise in black and grey photo realism tattoos and black work. He has been tattooing for over a decade and has honed his skills in the art of photo realism, creating highly detailed and lifelike tattoos that can mimic everything from photographs to drawings.

In addition to his photo realism work, Jake is also well-known for his black work tattoos. These tattoos are characterized by their bold, black lines and minimalistic designs, often featuring geometric shapes and negative space.

The newest addition to Vellum Art Collective is Apprentice, Blyth Campbell.   Although Blyth is new to tattooing physically, she is not new to the industry.  Before starting her apprenticeship in March 2023, Blyth was a laser tattoo removal technician and managed a location for a small company for nearly 6 years.  When a corporate merger left her feeling disheartened, she decided to conclude that chapter of her life, and begin again with her tattoo apprenticeship starting shortly thereafter.

Blyth grew up in the happy valley of Western MA, and was fortunate enough to have a supportive artistic environment growing up.  Her creative endeavors were encouraged from a young age, so she spent most of her time on artistic outlets, as well as in nature.  She was either drawing, painting, making jewelry, designing clothing, playing dress up, writing poems, looking for bugs and reptiles, or identifying rocks and plants.  She was interested in anything imaginative and expressive, and she has remained engaged in art and creativity into adulthood.

Professionally, she has also worked as a photographer, stylist, vintage clothing dealer, florist, freelance model, and actress.  Throughout her 20’s, she spent time travellng, and curating various art shows and events for her community in Northampton MA.

Blyth has always been drawn to how body art can make you more confident, while also creatively exercising what makes someone unique.   As a longtime artist and people person, what sets her apart is her nature of being honest and kind with her clients.  Two of her major strengths artistically are composition and placement.  She excels at design and loves finding ways for tattoos to compliment certain areas of the body that make the most sense for a client's tattoo journey.  These attributes, paired with her experience as a laser tattoo removal technician, have provided her with insight to the tattoo industry that most tattooers are not familiar with.  She knows what tattoos last, which ones fade, what tattoos will look like a blob in 5-10 years, and also holds a more complete understanding of the aspects of the skin which she is able to apply to tattooing.

When she’s not creating, she enjoys spending time contagiously laughing, walking in the woods, looking for vintage trinkets, raising caterpillars into moths and butterflies, waterfall hunting, propagating house plants, film, music, fashion, and generally any sort of adventure.

Dice Lyon has been professionally tattooing since 2013. He began his first year tattooing in Fort Lauderdale Florida, then built a following in Boston before moving to western MA in 2021.

    He works hard to make sure his clients feel good about the work they receive. Checking in every step of the way to make sure they are enthusiastically happy with the design, placement and application process. He has a diverse skill set, specializes in multiple styles, with the main focus being large scale flowing work. He is proficient in cover-ups and re-works, and cares deeply about his clients feeling at home in their bodies, especially if they’ve had bad experiences in the past.

       The styles he is attracted to most are American traditional, Japanese traditional, neo-traditional, black and gray realism, illustrative, ornamental, dotwork, fineline, geometric and heavy black-work tattooing. He prefers to explore multiple styles, as apposed to one specialty, to continue to stay challenged and growing. Adapting to whatever existing work a client might have, to complement their collection. Thinking a few steps ahead, guiding his clients to more successful sleeves, full backs and hopefully one day, body suits.

     He regularly creates pre-drawn designs with body placement options, to be tattooed only once. Allowing clients to see how a design flows from a distance before pulling the trigger on booking. This is often how new clients find their way to his chair, but not necessarily the only way. He equally enjoys when clients bring fresh ideas, allowing him to collaborate and surpass their expectations. 

       He treats each client with respect and care. Dice is deeply grateful for the opportunity to work with such amazing clients. He believes tattooing can be a very healing way for people to come together, and is one of the most natural things we as humans can do in our lifetimes.
